Welcome to Victoria Prieto Integrative Counselling

Helping you to help yourself

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Victoria Prieto Integrative Counselling.

I provide a supportive, safe space where you can share your innermost thoughts and feelings. Grounded in care, warmth, and empathy, my practice supports clients to explore their troubles in a judgement-free and secure environment.

I specialise in supporting people to find routes out of addiction, grief, anxiety, and depression. Of Spanish heritage, I also speak fluent Spanish.

I have completed the Certificate of Proficiency, am registered with the BACP, and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and Therapeutic skills.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please give at least 24 hours’ cancellation notice, without which the full session fee will be charged. I will attempt to give you at least 48 hours’ notice if I am unable to attend. If I cancel at short notice, you will not be charged for the session.

Late Arrivals

If you are late to arrive to the session, your session will only continue for the remainder of the original, agreed, 50-minute session.

If you arrive for a session clearly affected by the impact of alcohol or drugs, then consideration will be given to cancelling the session and you will still be charged for that session.

My Approach

I use the Person-Centred approach in the belief that the answers lie within us. Individually tailored therapy can provide the means to unlock these answers and ease us on the path towards our ideal selves.

I use a variety of techniques. Transactional Analysis can help you manage relationships in a healthier way, and mindfulness offers tools to control anxious responses and tame the inner critic. My use of reflection, paraphrasing, and immediacy can support you in understanding your values and perspective more clearly.

We all face enormous pressures, both from without and within. My role is to help you identify the pressure-points that have evolved into unhelpful or damaging coping strategies. I will work with you to develop alternative approaches so emotions and stress can be managed in a healthier way.

I provide both short and long-term therapy. We can discuss the planned duration of our work together during our initial session. We will review your progress at every sixth session.

My Location

I am located near Chingford and Woodford, offering both in-person and online sessions via Zoom.

My practice is easily accessible from surrounding areas, and I provide a convenient and supportive environment for clients.

Online sessions are available for those who prefer remote counselling, ensuring flexibility and comfort from your own space.

FAQs

What Happens in the Free 15-Minute Consultation?

This consultation is a relaxed, informal chat where I’ll introduce myself and you can share what’s bringing you to counselling. I’ll explain my approach and see if I’m the right fit to help you. Finding the right counsellor is important, so this chat is a great opportunity for us to decide if we can work together.

What Can I Expect in the First Session?

In our first session, I’ll review the counselling contract with you to ensure you fully understand it. We’ll also complete a brief assessment to gauge how you're feeling and discuss any goals you'd like to achieve. Additionally, I’ll gather some basic contact details.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions varies. Some clients find four to six sessions enough, while others may require twelve or prefer open-ended support. We’ll regularly review your progress and adjust accordingly, making the process flexible to suit your needs.

Should I Choose In-Person or Online Sessions?

We can discuss this during your consultation. Some people prefer the personal connection of in-person sessions, while others find the convenience of online counselling more comfortable. Ultimately, it’s about what works best for you.

How Do I Make Payment?

I will provide you payment details before your first session. Payments should be made at least 24 hours before our scheduled time. If you have any issues with the payment process, let me know, and we can arrange an alternative.

Is There a Lot of Paperwork to Fill Out?

No, not much. Once we agree to move forward, I’ll email you a counselling contract. You can sign it online or bring a printed copy to our first session.

How Do You Ensure Confidentiality?

Confidentiality is a top priority. I’ll go over this in detail during our first session, but you can also review my privacy policy by clicking here.

Have More Questions?

I’m happy to answer any other questions you may have. Feel free to fill out my contact form, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
